Dictionary Meaning of வாழை

s. plantain tree, musa paradisiaca; its fruit. Its different varieties are: இரசதாளிவாழை, com. இரஸ் தாளி-, a plantain of sweet flavour; பூவன்-, another kind of flavorous plantain; கரு-, a kind of black plantain; கொட்டை-, a plantain having seeds; செவ்-, a kind of red plantain; பேயன்-, an inferior but medicinal kind of plantain; மொந்தன்-, a large variety etc. வாழைக்கச்சல், unripe plantains that are very tender. வாழைக்கன்று, -க்கண்ணு, a young plant of the tree. வாழைக்காய், unripe plantains. வாழைக்குலை, -த்தாறு, an entire cluster of plantains. வாழைச்சீப்பு, a comb of plan tains. வாழைத்தண்டு, spadix of the plantain. வாழைநார், fibres in the stem of the tree. வாழைப்பழம், ripe plantains. தொடைவாழை, a humor on the thigh.
