ஏதேனும் ஒரு காரணத்தால் நிகழ்ந்த மெய்ப்பாடு முதலியவற்றை மற்றொரு காரணத்தால் நிகழ்ந்தனவாகக்கூறும் அணி. (அணியி. 86.) (Rhet.) A figure of speech in which the effect of one cause is ascribed to another or a feeling is dissembled by being attributed to a cause other than the real;
