Dictionary Meaning of பிரத்தியாகாரம்

அஷ்டாங்கயோகத்துள் இந்திரியங்களை விஷயங்களிலிருந்து திருப்புகை. Withdrawal of the senses from external objects, one of aṣṭāṅkayōkam, q.v.;
வடமொழிச் சூத்திரங்களின் முதல் கடைகளில் நின்றவெழுத்துக்களைக் கூட்டி இடைநின்ற வெழுத்துக்களை நீக்கி அனைத்தையுமுணர்த்துங் குறியீடாக வமைக்கை. (பி. வி. 4.) 2. Comprehension of a series of letters of a sūtrā in one syllable by combining its first letter with the last and omitting the intermediate letters, as ac in Sanskrit grammar;

s. one of ashtangayogam, which consists in withdrawing the senses from external objects.
