Dictionary Meaning of தனை

அளவு குறிக்கப் பிறசொல்லின் பின் வரும் ஒரு சொல். இத்தனையும் வேண்டு மெமக்கேலோ ரெம்பாவாய் (திருவாச.7, 3). A particle denoting quantity and time-limit, as ittaṉai, irukkuntaṉai;

s. an affix expressing number or quantity (as in அத்தனை, that much, இத்தனை, this much, so many, so great, எத்தனை, how much? how many? how great?). தனையும், vulg. தனிலும், affixed to a fut. part. so long as. அவன் வருந்தனையும், till he comes. இருக்குந்தனையும், as long as it shall be or remain. சாகுந்தனையும், till death.
