சீவான்மாவுக்கு நிகழக்கூடிய அஞ்ஞானம் ஆவரணம் விட்சேபம் பரோட்சஞானம் அபரோட்சஞானம் சோகநிவர்த்தி தடையற்றவானந்தம் என்னும் எழுவகை நிலைகள் (உபநி.17, உரை.) (Advaita.) The seven states of the soul from ignorance and self-delusion to the knowledge of Brahman and consequent felicity viz., aāam, āvaraṇam, viṭcēpam, parōṭcaāṉam, aparōṭcaāṉam, cōka-nivartti, taṭaiyaṟṟa-v-āṉantam;
