Dictionary Meaning of ஒற்றுப்பெயர்த்தல்

ஒழுமொழியுந் தொடர்மொழியுமாகநின்று வெவ்வேறு பொருள் தருவதாகப் பாடப்படும் மிறைக்கவி. (தண்டி. 95, உரை.) Stanza composed in such a way as to admit of the words being interpreted by artful analysis to convey more than one meaning;

''v. noun.'' [''in'' மி றைக்கவி.] Constructing a species of verse so artfully that, independent of the main sense, other meanings may be contained in it, மிறைக்கவியினோருறுப்பு--as அம்புத்தலை, the head of an arrow is அப்பு த்தலை, when the mute is hardened--which means the new head--besides the origi nal meaning.
