Dictionary Meaning of உத்தியாபனம்

நீங்கச்செய்கை. அண்ணலோடுமையை நண்பி னுத்தியாபனஞ் செய்தே (பிரமோத். 18, 31.) 2. Causing to depart;
முடிக்கை. விரதோத்தியாபனம். 1. Bringing to a conclusion, as a periodical fast;

s. a ceremony performed at the termination of a long periodical fast to secure its benefits; 2. causing to depart, நீங்கச்செய் தல்.

[uttiyāpaṉam] ''s.'' A ceremony at the termination of a long periodical fast, &c., performed to secure its benefits which would otherwise be lost--the merit of the fast and of all the pains, austerities, labors, &c., would in that case be surrendered- the benefits of fasts so performed in com pliance with vows are obtainable either in this life or the future, நோன்புமுடிக்கை.
