Dictionary Meaning of உச்சாடனம்

அஷ்டகருமத்துள், இருப்பிடத்தைவிட்டு ஓட்டுந்தொழில். 1. Magic art of driving away, causing a person to quit his place, one of aṣṭa-karumam, q.v.;
பேயோட்டுகை. 2. Expelling an evil spirit from a person or place, exorcism, one of aṟupattu-nālu-kalai;
பேய்முதலியவற்றை ஏவுகை. (W.) 3. Incitement by magical incantation of an evil spirit to cause injury or ruin;

s. making away with an adversary, the charm used for that purpose; 2. expelling a demon, exorcism, அகற்றுகை; பேயோட்டுகை.

[uccāṭaṉam] ''s.'' Expelling a demon from a person or place, exorcism--one of the eight magical arts, அகற்றுகை. 2. Ex citing a demon to injure or destroy some one by magical incantations, uprooting, பேய்முதலியவைகளையேவுகை. (See கருமம்.) Wils. p. 137. UCHCHADANA. 3.
