''s. [in grammar.]'' A word shortened in the middle, syn cope, elision; as ஓதி for ஓந்தி, camelion. (See விகாரம்.) 2. An island, blank space in a river, &c., ஆற்றிடைக்குறை.
''s. [in gram.]'' Syncope- as உரம், for உதரம். See under இடை.
