Dictionary Meaning of ஆசமனம்

வலக்குடங்கையால் மந்திரபூர்வமாக நீரை மும்முறை யுட்கொள்ளுகை. (கூர்மபு. நித்திய. 11.) Sipping while uttering certain mantras a little water three times from the palm of the right hand;

[ācamaṉam] ''s.'' Sipping water before religious ceremonies, before and after meals, &c., from the palm of the hand and swallowing it.
