Dictionary Meaning of அயர்

s. langour, அயர்வு; 2. distress. அயர்வுயிர்த்தல், recovering from langour.
அயரு, II. v. i. fail in strength, feel very weak, sleep, சோரு; 2. faint, swoon தளரு; v. t. 3. worship; 4. desire. என் கைகால் அயர்ந்தது, my hands and feet failed me. கண்ணயர்ந்தான், he fell asleep. அயர்ச்சி, அயர்வு, v. n. fainting, weariness.
VI. v. t. forget, மற. அயர்ப்பு, v. n. forgetfulness, மறதி.

[ayr] கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், அயர, ''v. a.'' To do, perform, execute, discharge duties, rites, &c., exercise, practise, செய்ய. In this meaning it seems commonly, as sociated with pleasant and gratifying sen sations, as, விருந்தயர, to perform the rites of hospitality. 2. ''v. n.'' To faint, swoon, languish, தளர. 3. To lose the power of consciousness, as in faintness, drowsiness, sleep, &c., சோர. 4. To become weary, droop, இளைக்க. விளையாட்டயர்ந்தான். He has played. அவன்கண்ணயர்ந்ததைப்பார்த்து. Seeing him drowsy.
