அத்தியானம், s. the reading or chanting of the Vedas; 2. studying, learning by rote. அத்தியாபனம் பண்ண, to study the Veda. அத்தியாபனம், teaching the Veda.
[attiyayaṉam ] --அத்தியாயனம், ''s.'' Study, reading, especially of the sacred books, one of the six duties of Brahmans, வேதமோதுகை. Wils. p. 24. AD'HYAYANA.
n. < adhya-yana. Learning, studying, esp. the Vēda;ஓதல். அத்தியயனத்தொடு வலமாத்திரிந்து (நல். பாரத.தருமசா. 177).
*அத்தியயனோற்சவம் attiyayaṉōṟ-cavamn. < id. + utsava. Festival in Viṣṇutemples during which are chanted the Divyaprabandha and Vēdic hymns for ten days before(பகற்பத்து), and ten nights after (இராப்பத்து)Vaikuṇṭha-ēkādašī; விஷ்ணுகோயி லுற்சவ வகை. (கோயிலொ. 8.)
