Dictionary Meaning of குந்து

III. v. i. sit, sit on the legs, squat; 2. limp, hobble, go on tip-toe கிந்து; 3. bend as a bow. குந்தி நிற்க, to stand on tip-toe. குந்து, குந்துகை, v. n. a squatting posture. குந்துகாலன், (fem. குந்துகாலி) a hobbling or limping person. குந்துதிண்ணை, a narrow pial or elevated floor of a verandah used as a seat, ஒட்டுத்திண்ணை.

[kuntu] ''s.'' A hop, a tip-toe, [''vulgarly,'' கிந்து.] 2. ''[prov.]'' Fibres in fruits--as in the mango and palmyra; also, in roots, சக்கை. Probably a change of கூந்தல். See under the verb குந்து. அவர்களிலொருகுந்துங்கூருமில்லாமற்போய்விட்டது, There is not one of the family left--not even a fibre.
